Free online image resizer — change width and height in pixels
Resize a JPG, PNG, or WebP photo to exact pixel dimensions without installing desktop software. Load an image, set the dimensions you need, and download the copy. The tool prints the original and new dimensions side by side with both file sizes, so you can see what changed before saving.
How to resize an image
- Use Select image to pick a file from your device, up to 20 MB. Its current dimensions load automatically.
- Choose a Preset — 1600 px wide for WhatsApp and web, 1080×1080 for an Instagram square, or 800 px wide for a thumbnail — or type your own Width (px) and Height (px).
- Leave Lock aspect ratio ticked so the second dimension follows the first and the photo never stretches.
- Click Resize, check the preview, then click Download to save the new file.
When you need to resize a photo
- Social posts — square, portrait, or banner dimensions for Instagram and Facebook.
- Websites and blogs — shrink a camera photo to a content width so pages load faster.
- Forms and portals — meet a strict pixel limit on a photo or signature upload.
- Email and chat — send lighter images that arrive intact.
Resizing versus compressing
Resizing changes an image's pixel dimensions; compressing keeps the dimensions and squeezes the file bytes instead. When a photo is too heavy, do both: resize here, then run it through the image compressor. If all you need is a different file type, the image converter switches between JPG, PNG, and WebP. Output here keeps the format you uploaded, and each side is capped at 8000 pixels so a huge target cannot lock up the browser tab.
Your photos never leave your device
Resizing runs locally with the HTML canvas API in your browser — no image is uploaded, nothing is stored, and no account is required.
